Office 365 Email Essentials Godaddy – In short, I suggest buying Office365 from Microsoft and not from GoDaddy. I support this statement with my experience because I purchased Office365 from GoDaddy.
I have always purchased my domains and SSL certificates from GoDaddy. In July 2016, I decided to save money and buy 5 years of Office365 Business Premium through GoDaddy instead of Microsoft. My savings:

A few layers below the price, here are some issues I found that conflicted with my Office365:
Email & Office
Auth0.com Definition of Single Sign-On (SSO): Occurs when a user signs in to one application and then automatically signs in to other applications, regardless of platform, technology, or domain.
GoDaddy SSO is becoming a problem because token based authentication conflicts with most of my Microsoft services (Office365, Azure, Bing, Outlook).
My account goes into an infinite loop after submitting my username/password. This has been happening since I bought GoDaddy Office365 and I wasn’t the only person experiencing this problem – read here. As I got into the loop, my solution to escape was to paste https://login.microsoftonline.com/ into the browser URL bar. I was then able to see my Office365 products:
I’m a software developer and if I didn’t have a Microsoft BizSpark account, GoDaddy’s Office365 services would limit my development. Example:
My Experience With The Purchase Of Office365 Through Godaddy
If I click on the Admin tab, GoDaddy offers limited Office365 management. If I want to create an AppCatalog for SharePoint, I won’t be able to because Godaddy offers a different admin center than Microsoft:
This basic option does not exist in GoDaddy’s Office365 administration. This means I cannot use SharePoint Management with my GoDaddy Office365 Business Premium account. This also means I can’t create an app catalog for my SharePoint web parts or use other management features.
GoDaddy has excellent customer service, but the technician’s hands were tied and he knew it before he even started to fix this problem. At the end of the conversation, he asked me to contact Microsoft.
A Microsoft technician admitted that Office365 features are limited with GoDaddy and suggested that I give up ownership of the domain and switch to Microsoft. This would prevent SSO and not interfere with any of my Microsoft services (Office365, Azure, Bing, Outlook).

Another problem: My Office365 plan allows me to install Office 2016 products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) on 5 computers. After reformatting one of my computers, I downloaded and installed Office 2016 and tried to register Excel and got the following error message: This software will keep drivers running to protect you from common errors in the computer and hardware errors. Since Microsoft and GoDaddy partnered in 2014, GoDaddy began selling Office 365 through its platform. You can purchase this subscription (multi-year) directly from GoDaddy at a lower price.
At first glance, it may seem like you’ve struck gold, but the reality is a little different. Let’s go back a bit.
Office 365, now called Microsoft 365, is a cloud service brought to you by Microsoft. This service provides access to Office applications such as Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Access.
Microsoft 365 From Godaddy
Just so you know, GoDaddy never dropped the Office 365 name. To avoid any confusion in this article, we’ll refer to Office 365 as GoDaddy’s version and Microsoft 365 as Microsoft’s version.
There are other subtle differences as well. For example, Microsoft 365 includes Windows 10 and the Enterprise Mobility Suite, while Office 365 only includes Office-specific tools.
We have already established that there are many differences between the two products we are discussing. The name is the most obvious, and the fact that Microsoft 365 also includes additional software and capabilities.
Therefore, if you have already purchased an Office 365 subscription from GoDaddy, the only logical path would be to migrate to Microsoft 365. However, this is a lengthy process and you will need help from GoDaddy’s customer service.
Microsoft Office 365 Vs Godaddy Office 365 [breakdown]
The bottom line is that while GoDaddy Office 365 may be cheaper, that’s mostly because it’s a lighter version of the original product. It offers fewer features, self-management options and is said to be increasingly complicated to use.
Buying a multi-year Office 365 subscription from GoDaddy may be cheaper than buying a Microsoft 365 subscription directly from Microsoft. However, in the long run, you may find that GoDaddy is charging you more for less.
If the above tips don’t solve your problem, your computer may have deeper problems with Windows. We recommend that you download this PC repair tool (rated excellent on TrustPilot.com) to solve them easily. Once installed, just click the Start Scan button and then press Fix All. For existing GoDaddy customers who need the power that Microsoft 365 offers, this solution is a perfect fit. However, if your domain lives elsewhere, we may recommend switching directly to Microsoft.

If you’re looking for a web hosting service, GoDaddy is almost certainly on your shopping list. And while its various tiers include email hosting options, the company also offers its own rebranded version of Microsoft 365 Business Premium. While it offers feature parity and many of the same benefits as Microsoft’s hosted email offering, GoDaddy has a few differences that set it apart. The company has done a great job of creating its own management portal and also added additional tiers focused more on email than productivity.
If you’re a GoDaddy customer, you won’t want to miss this platform. But if you’re starting from scratch in search of a full-featured email and productivity package, GoDaddy might not tempt you from our two Editors’ Choice winners, Google Workspace Business Standard and Microsoft 365 Business Original premium.
GoDaddy offers three tiers of Microsoft 365 Business Premium services. At the bottom end is Online Essentials, which includes online Office applications and email hosting. This will cost you $7.99 per user per month and includes 1 TB of online storage. The next tier is Business Premium, which costs $8.99 per user per month and offers up to 50GB of mailbox storage, 1TB of OneDrive storage, and locally installed versions of Office, as well as Microsoft business applications such as Microsoft Teams and SharePoint. This level includes HIPAA compliant emails. Finally, the Premium security tier ($16.99 per user per month) protects your email with end-to-end encryption and adds a search archive.

How To Backup Office 365 From Godaddy
If you’re not ready for all the bells and whistles of Microsoft 365 Business Premium, GoDaddy still has email hosting options for you, as long as you’re a web hosting customer. Not only are they affordable, but they’re also well-presented, even compared to specialized low-cost hosted email offerings like Fastmail or even Zoho Mail.

The host’s Email Essentials plan costs $1.99 per user per month on annual billing and includes 10GB of email and calendar storage. The Email Plus plan ($3.99 per user per month annually) increases email storage to 50 GB. Both have multi-domain support as well as anti-virus and spam filtering. If you need more than what these two tiers offer, you’ll step up to one of the Microsoft 365 tiers. Unfortunately, neither of these services has a free trial available for evaluation, a finding that GoDaddy really needs to address.
To get started with GoDaddy’s email offerings, it is assumed that you already have a GoDaddy account with a hosted domain. For many, this will be the biggest barrier to entry if you use another registrar. However, adding the service to an already configured domain can be an advantage: GoDaddy handles this configuration on the back end, which takes a lot of the hassle out of setting up Microsoft 365.
Migrating From Godaddy To Microsoft 365 And Avoiding Godaddy Issues
Adding an account is easy: choose the level you want to add and a wizard will guide you through choosing an account name and password. If you ended up choosing Microsoft 365 Business Premium, you’ll receive a QR code that you can scan with your smartphone to download apps. While it’s a bit unusual, it adds a level of polish that you don’t get out of the box with Microsoft 365.
It’s a mouthful, but once you’ve set up a few accounts, you’ll want to dive deeper into GoDaddy’s Microsoft 365 Business Management Portal. Here you can configure multi-factor authentication and specify whether or not to support third-party clients. This includes clients that run on POP, IMAP, and SMTP. An interesting addition to this screen is the “Tips for Securing Your Account” article, which does a pretty decent job of describing best practices for securing your email. It was honestly refreshing and this type of education should be available more often.
On the other hand, one thing I missed was the ability to quickly set up a
