Microsoft Outlook Internet Email Settings – In this article, I’ll show you how to set up Microsoft Outlook to send and receive email from your ISP or web hosting account. These instructions apply to Microsoft Outlook 2003 and later.

Please note that these steps may vary slightly depending on your email account. This article uses an email account on Justhost as an example.

To send and receive email from your ISP or web hosting account, you need:

These details should be provided by your ISP or web host when you sign up. If you can’t find the details, contact them to find out what they are. You can also see the center in How to Find Your SMTP Hostname and ISP Address.

If you verify an email address from your web host, you can also find your email server details on the webmail page. The screenshot below is from the Justhost web interface and shows where to click to find your email server settings.

Be careful to enter accurate information – especially your email address and password. Otherwise, your email will not work.

The required information on the screen is the data you collected in step 1. Fill in the data in the fields provided.

Check the box “My outgoing mail server (SMTP) requires authentication”. Make sure “Use the same settings as my incoming mail server” is selected.
